"Becca has helped me define my values as a researcher, and therefore define the sort of team I want to lead and how. In academia, we receive a lot of training of science, but not so much about management — I definitely needed guidance for that. As a result of working with Becca, I have a clearer strategy to lead my team and conduct my research projects; and I feel like I have more tools to face the inevitable stressful situations that arise."

Hey, Assistant Professors, I've been there...
In my first few years on the tenure track, I worked all of the time, but usually not on the right things.
I spent way too much time on teaching and service, and sacrificed my evenings and weekends (and sleep) for research. I didn’t exercise, or pursue hobbies, or make friends, or eat well. I was stressed, and exhausted, and lonely.Â
I know now that it doesn’t have to be this way. You can earn tenure without working yourself into the ground. Instead of repeating my mistakes, I want you to learn from them.
